During my four months in Delaware, I was very lucky to get complete exposure to one of the leading hospitality programs. By the deep involvement with its teaching, research, and internship activities, I began to have a deeper understanding of the differences of hotel education in the U.S. and in China. The program emphasizing practical, international, and social responsible learning and working experiences will definitely benefit my program.

The Guest Lecturer was very well received by our students. He did a great job in providing some advice to our students if they want to become managers in the future, such as set long-term and short-term goals, be persistent, never stop learning, and stick with a good hotel brand, etc. All of these are important for career advancement.

We appreciate that the Marriott Foundation has developed programs related to hospitality education. We hope in the future there will be more senior leaders from the industry visiting our school and sharing their experiences in Front Office, Housekeeping, etc. Through the guest lecturers, our students have gained better understanding of different hotel departments and opportunities so that they can plan their future career. In addition, we hope to learn more about real-world case studies through the Guest Lecturer program so we can introduce more of this knowledge and important skills into the classroom.

Thanks to the Marriott Foundation for the CHEI faculty internship opportunity at Ningbo Marriot Hotel in February. This experience improved my practical skills and promoted the cooperation between our college and Marriott International in China. I'm now escorting 28 students to Sanya Renaissance Resort where they will start a six-month internship. We are very excited that the students can have this experience with Marriott.

The CHEI Regional Teaching Forum connects well with the practical teaching of this major and also with the industry. Very practical. After we understand, digest and implement the things we learned, it will have a great impact on teaching hospitality and cultivating talent.
