Internships at select hotels throughout China are offered twice a year—during winter break for two weeks and summer break for four weeks. During internships, teachers learn first-hand about hotel operations, experience real-world challenges as they rotate through various departments, and have opportunities to network with hotel associates and leaders. These experiences are designed to provide teachers with new knowledge to enhance classroom instruction.
During summer internships, teachers gain experiences in overall hotel operations, or they may elect to focus on one of three specific disciplines that are also offered during the winter internships: Rooms, Food & Beverage or Human Resources. Teachers who are currently instructing hospitality courses at a university or vocational school that is enrolled in the CHEI program may complete an application to be considered for an internship.
